mixing water with compressed to make spray

mixing water with compressed to make spray

(OP)
Hello,

Can I mix water with compressed air (both at the same pressure) together in 1 pipe by a normal T to make a spray flow ?
as follows :

water -------------------
                                -
                                -
                                -------------spray----------------------- to Nozzle
                                -
                                -
                                -
Comp. air ---------------

Can I do that ? If yes how can I size the spray pipe ?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply

There is a nozzle installed in a vessel.
We need to feed "spray" to this nozzle .
Spray : compressed air + water (I don't have the mixing ratio now).
But I like to know is it right to mix water & air by this way or there are other methods for this type of mixing?

RE: mixing water with compressed to make spray

Sure can have been doing it for years.you can actually buy spray nozzles to do this job but think the water is at a lower pressure so it can be picked up in a venturi type effect, alternatively you can "mix" right at the valve if you like.Agricultural hardware shops have stainless steel sprayers go check em out.

RE: mixing water with compressed to make spray

YOU CAN GET SPRAY NOZZLES WHICH HAS COMPRESSED AIR CONNECTION AND ONE CONNECTION TO THE LIQUID YOU WANT TO SPRAY. THE SPRAY CAN BE REGULATED BY ADJUSTING PRESSURE ON COMPRESSED AIR INLET OR PRESSURE ON LIQUID INLET TO THE NOZZLE. ITS SIMPLE PROCESS.
