Joining Power cables
Joining Power cables
(OP)
Hi,
recently relocated a 415V distributional panel. As a consequence that panel is fed from by a sub feeder carrying about 200 A and it goes through an appropriately sized circuit breaker. I am thinking that that breaker is one too many potential failure points.
What do you think? and what is the best connection device to join to power cables.

RE: Joining Power cables
Is overcurrent protection required by your electrical code? If so, about your only other choice would be a fused switch.
I don't know how to say if it is a significant risk for your application. It depends on the consequences of a failure. The risk of a failure can be minimized by proper maintenance and periodic testing.
RE: Joining Power cables
How about a one line with some sizes and currents.
