resources on older sprinkler k-factors?

Could anyone suggest where I might find the k-factors for older sprinklers? In this instance I am looking for more information on the Grinnell 1989 F-950 standard response 1/2" pendant.

Thx

RE: resources on older sprinkler k-factors?

Grinnell was bought out by Tyco.  Contact your local Tyco rep and see if they have the old data sheets available.

Which in turn is somehow involved with Mueller Flow Control (at least where I am) and has become a large slow moving behemoth that is frequently painful to deal with. I sent an e-mail off last week and still haven't seen anything. I thought I'd give this forum a whirl as I often get some pretty darn good responses. Thx though Travis.

RE: resources on older sprinkler k-factors?

Dear lightecho

I share your feelings about Tyco. Unfortunately we too had a terrible experience. One of our clients is an Electrical Generating Plant here in Panama. The system is a Wormald (bought out by Tyco) No parts available or tech support, responses now and again promising action but absolutely nothing comes of it. The system is less than five years old and has to be replaced. We believe Fire Protection Engineering's foundation is built on absolute ethical behaviour. We tried everything but they ignored us. It is awful to have to say this but other than going with another brand as our client had to, there doesn't seem any solution through Tyco.

In hopes this may save you a little time at least

Hello interlogicapanama s.a. and thanks for the thoughtful reply.

I had my start with Wormald in Canada back in the day. Brings back some memories. As for Tyco, I deal with a company called National Fire Equipment when I need say a DV-1 or anything Tyco spec'd. There's a small markup of course but they keep it small to keep my business and they maintain a fair selection on hand. Expediency is more often than not the bottom line.
Best of luck to you in your endeavours

DKW
