weeper
weeper
(OP)
Hi to all,
English is not my mother tongue - although I think I can use it pretty well - but I am facing a language problem regarding a defect on a casted piece... The defect is called WEEPER. Does anyone know what exactly is this?
Thanks a lot in advance...

The most common reasons include: inclusions, shrinkage defects, hot tears, and gas (bubble) defects.
In cases where castings must be pressure (or vacuum) tight they castings are usually tested and then sealed by forcing a resin into the voids.

There is no way this can be salvaged except by hipping or vacuum sealing.
