DXF problem

DXF problem

DXF problem

(OP)
Hello All

We've been sent this dxf file from a supplier but it's giving us problems upon importing it. I've tried using the external trasnlators as well as the inbuilt ones and it still comes in all wrong. Is this something I can tweak or is it a problem with the DXF itself?

NX 4.0.4.2

dxf attached

Best regards

Simon

RE: DXF problem

Simon,

I changed the settings to import into a metric base file (may not affect you), and then imported into a new UG file. On first attempt it failed so I ran the DXF file through a 3rd party shareware converter called "Any DWG DXF converter" that I had off the Internet last year sometime to help out with a job. Then the best I could get was as attached.

Better that nothing, but not quite perfect.

Best Regards

Hudson

RE: DXF problem

I have had better luck with DWG's instead of DXF's ... maybe ask to see if you can have that sent to you.

RE: DXF problem

Simon,

That little converter if any of you might like to download a copy. I use so infrequently that I think I may just have kept it on trial thus far.

It can convert DXF to DWG in either direction. I don't have much to do with Autocad so this is a bit of a knife and fork job to facilitate the odd translation problem and nothing more. If you need to use it a lot then of course it is quite inexpensive and from this experience you would not struggle to justify the cost.

regards

Hudson
