Virtual Sharps troubles

Virtual Sharps troubles

Virtual Sharps troubles

(OP)
I have sketched a profile then revolved it. I then added fillets. Now I want to make a drawing of this piece and am having difficulties making my dimensions from the virtual corner.

The SW help section tels me to use "virtual sharps" by control selecting the adjacent lines and then selecting "point" ..... by magic a point should appear that I can use for dimensioning..

This is not working for me... in which condition should I be selecting these lines.. editing my sketch? (there is no fillet in this condition) In a cross section of my model? (I can select the lines but when I select the point button the lines de-select) In the drawing itself? (does not seem to work there either) Editing the feature? (the fillet was created by selecting a single corner.. formed by the revolving of the sketch)

Very confused.. any one able to point to what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for your time
Ralph

RE: Virtual Sharps troubles

You should be able to place Virtual Sharps in both the model feature sketches and in drawing views. If they are placed in the feature sketch, the sketch will need to be shown so that the point can be selected. The sketch can then be hidden.

The type of Virtual Sharp can be changed in Tools > Options > Document Properties > Details > Virtual Sharps.

cheers

Thanks.. worked around it for the moment but will need to resolve how to do this when I have a bit more time

RE: Virtual Sharps troubles

You might try to import the dimensions that you used to make the model, too.  Sometimes that clears things up.  At any rate it's faster than dimensioning a drawing anyway.

RE: Virtual Sharps troubles

If you are trying to make a virtual-sharp in a drawing, ctrl+pick the lines (not the radius) and hit the point tool: LINK
