Anyone suggest a good reference book for NX5 ? It can be for beginners, or advanced.

The one's I've found are :

Basic and Intermediate NX5 ... Design Visionaries.

Parametric Modeling with UGS NX5 ... by Randy H. Shih.

NX5 for Designers ... by Sham Tickoo.

I think you should also read Machiavelli's "The Prince" as a reference for dealing with workplace conflict in broader general sense, but that's probably just me!

John,

Of the 3 books I mention, have you read any of them ?

No, but I have looked at 'NX5 for Designers', by Sham Tickoo, and it appeared useful.  I was also told that it was more reasonably priced then some others, including at least one that was on your list.

Yes, one on my list is rather expensive. I'm just curious to know whether it's worth the extra outlay.

RE: Books on NX5

Phill,

Of the lot NX5 for Designers, by Sham Tickoo, is the most appealing title. It is one of a series covering many CAD systems. Especially if you're coming from other systems I would expect it to take a broadly comparable approach that may suit your needs.

Amazon has it from $59 plus postage. How much is too much? It would be interesting to see if it is available in libraries or technical bookshops in your area so you can browse before you buy.

"The Prince" and "Idiot" can both be found in the public domain on the internet at no cost. wink

Cheers

Hudson
