MID-Range IR Thermographic Camera

MID-Range IR Thermographic Camera

(OP)
I'm looking for a mid-range IR (around 3-5 microns) thermographic camera that can interface, but does not need to have a high resolution, just something that can feed images back to a computer. It will be used to observe lab rats through a polysulfone cage, so it has to be mid-range IR (from 8-12 microns the transmissivity of polysulfone becomes very poor). So far the range of thermographic cameras i've seen has had a huge disparity between both price and functionality. Either a hand held camera for 1000 bucks that cant interface at all or 13000+ cameras that are overkill for the application I had in mind. If anyone knows where I could find a camera that sits inbetween that sort of range that'd be great!

Thanks

RE: MID-Range IR Thermographic Camera

Perhaps these folks will have something that will work for you. At a glance I found 7 to 14 microns, "less than" $5K to "less than" $6K.
