Extrude problem in NX 4.0.4.2

Extrude problem in NX 4.0.4.2

Extrude problem in NX 4.0.4.2

(OP)
I created
1) 2 circles in single sketch, (both circles are separate, in the sense, neither one inside other, nor crossing each other)
2) created extrude by selecting "feature curves" selection intent, so now you can see single extrude feature in the part navigator.
3) Now selected instance command-> circular array, i am unable to see the extrude in the list that I had created in step 2!!

RE: Extrude problem in NX 4.0.4.2

Call it an anomaly.

The workaround is that before you attempt to create the Circular Instance 'Feature' array, you use Format -> Group Features... select the Extrude feature and give it a name, and then Instance array this named Feature Group.

Of course for NX 5, you wouldn't even use the Instance Feature function but rather Instance Geometry which allows you to create Instances of ANY geometric object, whether it's a feature or not.

(OP)
yes I know that workaround of grouping features, that we did in NX2.

RE: Extrude problem in NX 4.0.4.2

Well, the workaround still works.  I suggest that you use it since we are not going to fix NX 4.  And since in NX 5 we already have a better solution, we probably won't fix it there either.
