Part Template Question

Part Template Question

Part Template Question

(OP)
One of the places I have been doing work for has given me a SW part template that now want me to use.  I have already done a bunch of parts in my standard part template and was wondering how can I change the parts that are already done to use the new template they have given me.  If this is just a brain-fart on my part, I'll have the dunce cap ready to wear.

Thanks in advance,
BB

RE: Part Template Question

You can't.
You can copy and paste the custom properties from the new to the old and manually change any document properties as well.
You could try copy and pasting from the feature manager, but that may end up being more trouble than it's worth.

RE: Part Template Question

Do you mean the actual document templates (.prtdot, .asmdot, .drwdot) or the sheet format (.slddrt)?

Depending on your answer, one of these should help;

Copy Custom Info macro from http://www.esoxrepublic.com/freeware/index.html

PropertyEditorGlobal from http://www.lennyworks.com/solidworks/default.asp?ID=20

SWcp3 from http://www.swcp3.com/

mac_copydoc.zip from http://swtools.cad.de/macros.htm

Change Custom Properties from http://trimechsolutions.com/tech_resources.html

Update Custom Properties from within the SW Task Scheduler

cheers
