Alodine 1000 verses Alochrome 1000

Alodine 1000 verses Alochrome 1000

Alodine 1000 verses Alochrome 1000

(OP)
Are they the same thing as my US customer has specced Alodine 1000 and my UK finisher is offering Alochrome 1000.
Any thoughts.
Cheers Graham.

RE: Alodine 1000 verses Alochrome 1000

Alodine 1000 is MIL-C-81706, Class 3, Form II, Method A,C.

If the Alochrome 1000 is to this spec. then it may be used.

(It is not listed in the QPL-81706-16)

RE: Alodine 1000 verses Alochrome 1000

Alochrome is the UK 'generic', albeit actually brand name, term for chromate conversion coating.  Alodine is in the same niche in the US.

So fundamentally I'd expect them to be equivalent but depending what your contract says you may need more than this.

KENAT,

Have you reminded yourself of FAQ731-376: Eng-Tips.com Forum Policies recently, or taken a look at http://eng-tips.com/market.cfm?
