Follow up .dxf question

Follow up .dxf question

Follow up .dxf question

(OP)
Thanks for the assistance on my first query, now for a follow-up question...

Quick background info:
This is what I saved as a flat in sheetmetal, also should be a picture of it just incase.  The logo is going to be inscribed (burned) onto the side of a diamond.  (I will find out the name of the equipment and program if necessary, but from what I understand all that's necessary is a .dxf file)  As I saved the file as a dxf it asked me to save the face, then "click on an edge to define the x-axis and origin".

So when I did this the first time, I used an arbitrary edge towards the center of the logo.

I was told that the file could not be used because it was reading "negative 'x' and 'y' coordinates from my .dxf file.

So... how do I save this file in a .dxf format such that it does not have any negative x and y values?

Or does something sound fishy?

Thanks for putting up with a newby.

Logan

RE: Follow up .dxf question

Create a 2D draft with the logo in it.

Save as dxf.

Doesn't sound like you need to worry about modelling for what you're doing and I think that's what is causing you the problem.

RE: Follow up .dxf question

Or as it was originally a jpeg maybe you do need the model.

As you already have the model create a draft fed from the model.  Create a view with the logo.
