quick ways of adding material iProperties.

quick ways of adding material iProperties.

quick ways of adding material iProperties.

(OP)
So I'm still new to Inventor. I basically created about 1000 or so parts without realizing my template had the wrong material as its default iProperty. Is there a fast way to assign the same material (steel) to a bunch of parts?

Thanks

Matthew

RE: quick ways of adding material iProperties.

Open a new .iam
In windows explorer, find the file location for the parts.
Highlight them all and drag them into the .iam.
Once all the parts are in the assembly, open the BOM
Change the material

I am sure there is a better method but this is the one that comes to mind.

RE: quick ways of adding material iProperties.

every part should synchronize with their assembly. just open the part, right click on 'the name' of your part in history panel, click iproperties and change it.. i'm not sure u can change the properties in .iam.

RE: quick ways of adding material iProperties.

DrJackal,

That requires that you open and save each part individually.
You CAN change the iProperties from the BOM in an assembly. No they will not all synchronize with the assembly.
