Cooling Towers in South Florida

Cooling Towers in South Florida

Cooling Towers in South Florida

(OP)
How common are they?

What is a typical cost for power and water up there?

How common are companies that do a decent job maintaining towers and treating the water?

Take the "V" out of HVAC and you are left with a HAC(k) job.

RE: Cooling Towers in South Florida

CT's are fairly common around S. FLA.  All stainless construction is the norm - or they will be a pile of junk in 5 years.  I don't have any info on power or maintenance companies.

You threw me off when you said "Up There"....  Until I read your response to another thread stating you are in the Caribbean..... Lucky Devil....

RE: Cooling Towers in South Florida

Are cooling towers typically stainless steel in Florida?  Just asking because 99% of HVAC cooling towers in Australia are fibreglass and very rarely see anything else.

RE: Cooling Towers in South Florida

I am currently planning a 5 ton residential cooling tower installation in South Florida so I have been considering what it will cost my customer.  The system is operating on ground water but is in trouble due to iron bacteria, hence the change to cooling tower.  We will be using a fiberglass tower. Our current residential water rate is about .017 per gallon (no city sewer in this location).  Residential electricity is .12 per KWH. I have not yet looked into how the water treatment will be handled.
