Random excitation time history

Random excitation time history

Hi all,

Do someone know how to simulate the time history response of a structure to a random excitation. Is it true if the Spectrum analysis give only the PSD not the time history?

Many thanks

RE: Random excitation time history

Random excitation and time history are the exact opposites of one another with respect to knowing your input.  How would you expect to input one and get the other back?

Tks for reply,

I would rather clarify my question. Actually I want to have the transient time domain response of a mechanical system to a Gaussian white noise input excitation.

Always appreciate for replies,
