Analysis of Relief Valve Discharge Piping-Continued

(OP)
This is a continuation of thread378-186955: Analysis of Relief Valve Discharge Piping as it has been closed.

LCMECHENGR,

I wonder if you can give an update as to what approach you used. We are in a similar position to consider doing stress analysis of the discharge relief valve flare piping for a closed flare system. We are wondering how to calculate the pressures in the flare piping to determine the loads on the piping and the resulting stress. This thought was to compare the stress to B31.3 occasional criteria similar to open flare system analysis as we've done before.
