Batch Drawing Creation

In solid works there is a tool called "task scheduler" that give you several batch jobs.  Imports, exports, printing, update custom properties, and create drawings.  i am looking for a way to create a batch of 2D drawings.  Are there any such tools in solid edge, or available for solid edge.

RE: Batch Drawing Creation

Imports, Exports and Printing - look for Batch.exe in C:\Program Files\Solid Edge Vxx\Custom\Batch.
For all properties you can use Property Manager - when you start SE (but before opening a file) select Tools>Property Manager. It's also available from Revision Manager.
As for creating drawings, I don't understand why you would need a batch program to do it, or what you would expect it to produce.

I have about 100 part files that need a 2d drawing created for them.  Right now I would need to open each part, and hit "create drawing" 100 times.  In solid works I could pick the folder that had all 100 part files and pick a 2d sheet(title block) I wanted to use, and the program would automatically make the drawing from the part file and insert the views that I predefined in the sheet template for all 100 parts. Does solid works have something like that.

RE: Batch Drawing Creation

It rings a bell but I can't recall, may even have been Pro E I'm thinking of.

One possible problem, retrieve dimensions in SE, while much improved recently isn't perfect, so I'm not sure how well completely automatic drawing creation from model will work.

KENAT, probably the least qualified checker you'll ever meet...

I don't need it to dimension it for me, just save me the time of creating 100 drawings manualy.

Thanks for weighing in.

RE: Batch Drawing Creation

Perhaps you could use a quicksheet.
Match it with your parts.
Make a SaveAs routine in a self written program.
And use a part property to make a distinction between the different draft files. ( `document´  for instance. )

I haven't tried it myself yet, but I face the same problem.
It's just an idea.

Success
