I think I know what you are asking, "what Grade and Class of pipe do you select for an application?" If this is the question, you need to review service temperature exposure and the type of environment for the pipe application. The selection of material is up to the user, and is not something that is readily found in a Code book. Also, do you have a copy of this specification handy?

If you come back with some information regarding your specific application, we may be able to offer assistance.

RE: E.FS.W pipe material selection.

Grade is based on chemistry. Class is based on welding method and radiography requirements. Grades are primarily chosen to meet specific corrosion resistance and service temperature life designs. Class is primarily selected with regard to operational safety.
