Need n & r values for half hard 304SS for FEA.

Need n & r values for half hard 304SS for FEA.

(OP)
I work with many different materials and was wondering if there is a good web site that gives the n & r values for many different materials for FEA.  Right now I'm looking for 304SS that is half hard for the medical field.

RE: Need n & r values for half hard 304SS for FEA.

The term 'half hard' can mean a wide variety of processing routes and resulting mechanical properties depending on the producer.  The formation of martensite during deformation will vary considerably based on the the exact gauge reduction, temperature, chemistry, etc.  The resultant n and r values will vary based on volume % of martensite.  Also the results will be anisotropic therefore your model should include values longitudinal, transverse and diagonal to rolloing direction rather than r-bar or average n-value.

Your best bet is to test sample material from the supplier you plan to source and plug the stress-strain curves form the three directions into your FEA model.
