AutoCAD Demonstration Help!

AutoCAD Demonstration Help!

AutoCAD Demonstration Help!

(OP)
Ok Stiker, Tigrek, and other code junkies hiding in the wings I need some help. Here's what I'm looking at: My company is evaluating ESRI products and they want me to create a demo of what can be done with AutoCAD Map along the same guidelines. Because we have been focusing on the drawings themselves, I havn't really taken the time to do much coding in VB or VL that would allow a user to perform some more GIS type of transactions especially at non-CAD workstations. I can of course do the SQL and HTTP queries and link data to that, but I need some information on building VB Apps such as a layer control that would be easy for a non-CAD person to manipulate layers. Initiate commands that perform queries via SQL statments on either a group of objects, or as individuals through some form of menu system. Another item that I could use is a bit of code that would allow me to place a docked item like the "Change Properties" window with a few modifications of course on the desktop where the user could select diffrent things without having to go to the menu bar or icon bar for general queries or output. I don't need the code written for me, but I am on a very limited time schedual (15 days), so I'm going to need some pretty good examples and maybe some source to look at. If there is anyone with some examples, or know of some good sites that I can investigate I would be truely grateful for any information that is posted.
