Yankee rebuild

Yankee rebuild

(OP)
An old Yankee tissue machine requires revamp from DC to AC drives. Due to lack of time and space it is proposed to use individual AC feeders and a common PLC, instead of a common DC bus. Total 15 motors 6x100kW, 9x34kW. What are advantage / disadvantage

RE: Yankee rebuild

Only concern I'd have is wanting some isolation between the various VFDs and the PLC otherwise you could have some of those grounding/noise issues that are so common =>

You may need vector drives if these all need to work together in a synchronized manner.

Skoggsurra hopefully can wade in here.
