Water Specific heat value needed

(OP)
I need to know the specific heat value for water at 711 psig (49 Kg/cm2) and 185 deg C (385 deg F) in Kcal/kg degC or BTU/lb deg F

RE: Water Specific heat value needed

Hi,

Does heat capactity vary with pressure? I wouldn't have thought so.

Cheers,
John.

RE: Water Specific heat value needed

There is a very, very slight effect of pressure on the heat capacity of water (CRC Handbook of tables for Applied Engineering Science) but it's essentially zero.  As a quick look at the Mollier diagram for water would have shown.

RE: Water Specific heat value needed

From CRC

mean from 0-180 deg C: 1.0127 cal/g/C Variation fro 0-100 is very slight (high at 0: 1.00738 cal/g/C  and low at 34 deg C: 0.99798 cal/g/C)

Best regards

Morten
