NX5 assemblies parts list

NX5 assemblies parts list

I have a few parts in my assembly model file that I do not want to show up in the parts list on my drawing.
Is there a way to suppress these things from the parts list?

RE: NX5 assemblies parts list

If these are items that you are going to reuse again and you always wish that they NOT be included in the Parts List add a Part Attribute to the part file with the following title (it's not important what the 'value' of the attribute is as the system is ONLY looking for the name):

PLIST_IGNORE_MEMBER

Now if what you have is a subassembly that while you would like the Subassembly to appear in the Parts List, but NOT any of the components that make up the subassembly, add a Part Attribute with the following title (again, the value can be anything):

PLIST_IGNORE_SUBASSEMBLY

Now of course if you want BOTH the subassembly and it's sub-components excluded, just add BOTH Part Attributes to your file.

RE: NX5 assemblies parts list

Now if you ONLY wish to exclude a component from the Parts List of the current assembly that you're working on, rather than adding the above Attribute(s) to the part file, instead go into the Drawing Assembly and add the Attribute(s) to the Component object (it's easiest to just select the Component in the Assembly Navigator, select MB3 and then select the 'Properties' option and add the Attribute there).

Thanks John for all your help.
I hope to see you again this year at the Wisconsin/Illinois users group conference ... but I am not really sure when it is going to be.
