Screw mixer design to maximize heat transfer

Screw mixer design to maximize heat transfer

Screw mixer design to maximize heat transfer

(OP)
Hi,

as a process design engineer, I have to design a screw mixer for a jacketed polymerization reactor.
The highly viscous liquid requires vigourous stirring for reactants homogeneization and exothermicity is removed by cooling water circulating in the jacket.
What are the design parameters and operating conditions of this screw mixer to maximize the heat removal through the jacket ?
Thanks for your input.

RE: Screw mixer design to maximize heat transfer

An item like a screw mixer is most likely bought as a unit from a vedor. Try to find the leading manufactors (use e.g. google) and the ask them directly.

They will most likely require some more specific info than what you have provided here (volumes, temperatures proteries etc.)

Best Regards

Morten
