Extracting surfaces from a CGR

Extracting surfaces from a CGR

Extracting surfaces from a CGR

(OP)
Can anyone tell me how I can extract geometry from a CGR?
I have a file that I need to pull stuff from, however I can not open the part file.  I have put the component into an assembly, but am still unable to get the extract command for this component. I have also tried a powercopy of the bodies and surfaces to no avail.  Any insight?  I know I have done this before, but cannot remember how atm.

RE: Extracting surfaces from a CGR

If you have DMU Optimizer you can get a triangulated surface. Create a silhouette and save as .model.  Open .model - copy/paste as result.

Hope this helps.

We do not have that particular license.  I have also tried to convert the file to step and igs with no success.  Any other ideas from anyone?

RE: Extracting surfaces from a CGR

I have a workaround to get it to step, save it first as wrl and insert that file into a product, now save the product as step. But from step I don't have anything to extract surfaces, maybe someone else can chip in from here...
