Seeking new ideas for disposal of saws, coolant and sludge

Seeking new ideas for disposal of saws, coolant and sludge

Seeking new ideas for disposal of saws, coolant and sludge

(OP)
I received a request from a filer in saw mill.  He wants to know if there is any place to sell the following.  Assume the materials are mixed, e.g knife grinding and carbide grinding sludge and coolant mixed together.

Again, the question is if they can be sold and where or what is the cheapest, legal way to dispose of them.

Grinding sludge – diamond wheels used to grind cobalt bonded tungsten carbide.  A little cobalt and some industrial diamonds.
Saw steel – 8670, SKS5, SKS51, 75Cr1 (1075 w/chrome) used saw blades deemed no longer fit for service.  Will be one of the above steels with tungsten carbide tips or Stellite® tips on them.
Used coolant – coolants used in grinding tungsten carbide

Thanks,
Tom

I had a cousin who painted saws with landscape scenes, and they sold well at Branson, MO, the tourist destination.

That seems to be the highest and best use.

Talk to your local scrap yard that deals in industrial waste metals.  Some will take sludge and swarf.
