Panel Displacement

(OP)
Hi,

Does anyone know where the drift limits are shown in the code for external cladding and/ or glass. This is assuming that the cladding is separate from the lateral resisting elements.

Thanks

RE: Panel Displacement

Assuming you are referring to wind drift (rather than siesmic drift):

I'm not sure that wind drift limits are mandated in codes ( I am referring to IBC 2006 ) as wind drift is generally considered a serviciability issue, not a life safety issue.

AISC has some recommendations that can be found in Design Guide 3 for steel framed buildings. I am sure other trade groups have recommendations for their particular products.
