view dependent edit
(OP)
In NX3, I am using edit->view->view dependent edit->convert dependancy->view to model (from drafting, with the sheet turned off), to add text, curves, and hatching to the model. It works fine with the text, but does not work with the curves or hatching. Any suggestions as how to get the hatching and curves to select? I have already tried selection intent.

RE: view dependent edit
As for the curves, make sure that you've first selected the view that the view-dependent curves were created in, and don't forget that that the drawing itself is ALSO a view so if you create view-dependent curves outside of of the drawing views, then when you do a view-dependent edit, you'll have to select the 'drawing' before you con select any of those curves. Also, you can ONLY select view-dependent curves in the function that you were using.

I assumed that it was a visible in view operation, since when I do info on the unmoved crosshatching it lists a visible in view TRF-TRI, and when I perform the grip the visible in view line isn't there.
Basically I am trying to recreate the grip using a marco.

RE: view dependent edit
I've posted this before and it may help again to know this. The change since it last came to my attention is that NX-5 allows you to select a planar face which overcomes a lot of problems.
What I would still do for complicated boundaries perhaps on curved faces or across multiple faces in many cases is to work with joined curves. I even allow the output to have corners just so long as it makes it easier to create a closed single curve for the boundary and then pick that for your crosshatching. Wherever the boundary definition is starting to get reasonably complex it takes away some of the frustration of repeatedly picking each element until you get it right.

RE: view dependent edit
I have gotten the hatching and curves to appear on the model by creating it in drafting with no drawing. The last thing that I can't quite figure out is how to make the hatching appear on the actual drafting sheet. The curves and text appear in both the model and the sheet, but only the curves and text show up on the sheet, not the hatch. Area fill does appear though. Thanks in advance!
