It there a way to reorder the way things are in the parts list on the drawing?
I would like to move item 3 to item 1, and then item 5 to item 2, then let the rest of the parts reorder themselves.

RE: NX5 Assemblies

Jerry,

You should be able to use Cut & Paste (on the actual parts list), that's the easiest way, I find.

RE: NX5 Assemblies

OK, try this.

Highlight and select the 1st and 2nd rows, 'item 1' and 'item 2', (make sure the entire row is highlighted) and press MB3 and select 'Cut' (if it's difficult to select both rows at once then do it one at a time) and paste them somewhere after what was 'item 5' (you do a paste by again selecting an entire row and pressing MB3 and select 'Paste').

Now what was 'item 3' should now be 'item 1', so select it and press MB3 and select 'Lock/Unlock Row'.

Now what was 'item 5' should now be 'item 3', so go and perform a 'Cut & Paste' on 'item 2' and place it after what was 'item 3'.

Now what started out as 'item 5' should now be 'item 2', so again select the entire row and preform another 'Lock/Unlock Row'.

You should be all set, all but the first 2 items are free to update and resort based on any changes that you make, but as long a 'item 1' and 'item 2' are not messed with, they should remain the first 2 items in your parts list until you 'Unlock' them or explicitly move them yourself.
