Hi Guys ,

Please can somebody tell what does TAO stand for in Teamcenter Application context...

RE: what does TAO Imr means in the context of Teamcenter Engineering appli

Orbix used to be used up to Teamcenter Engineering 2005, when they converted to TAO. I think the Orbix package wasn't being supported anymore or development just like TAO better for other reasons. Regardless it does the CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) for Portal (Java based) to Teamcenter Engineering Server (C, C++ Based). CORBA allows them two to speak to each other on a common language.

Short answer, it connects Portal to Teamcenter Engineering server. The official technical name is something else more forgettable.
