How to model relative friction in ansys ...
(OP)
When you have friction between two surfaces, then u use the relative friction coefficient right. But how do i do that with ansys? I have put contact element between two different materials, but it doesn’t seems as I can use the relative friction in ansys instead i have to write an friction coefficient for each material ...

RE: How to model relative friction in ansys ...
when you define a contact, between two bodies, you can select a different material only for the contact.
I mean, you can create a dummy material, with only the friction coefficient you want to use for this contact, and in the contact properties, asign this material to your contact.
In that way, the contact friction will be the defined for the dummy material.
This way to work is very usefull and better for contact management.

exactly. This is how Workbench operates. In Classical, you can do the same or manage the friction coefficient in the Contact Pair's properties. Please bear in mind that doing so will affect the friction coefficient of the whole material of the "Contact"-side material.
