Help on Compressors

Help on Compressors

Help on Compressors

(OP)
Hello all,

My company asked me to:
- Write a manual on compressors
- Develop an Excel spreadsheet for preliminary sizing

The context is an engineering company involved in conceptual, basic, detailed studies mainly.

I would like to share ideas with you all on:
- Proper outline for such a manual
- Best references including articles like CHE, CEP, HP
- Existing spreadsheets you could share
- Most important concepts/things to keep in main when dealing with compressors
- other relevant ideas would be more than welcomed

Thanking you all in advance

Google "Compressor Handbook", edited by Paul Hanlon, McGraw Hill, 2001, ISBN 0-07-0260050-2

RE: Help on Compressors

Look at the API 618 and 619

RE: Help on Compressors

Tell your company to hire a reputed compressor specialist to undertake the task.

Take a look at this web site that might help.

RE: Help on Compressors

Got www.arielcorp.com and get their free reciprocating program.  Also, Ajax and cooper.

If you want simple, try this

HP = Pd(absolute)/ Ps (absolute)* 22 * MMSCFD

RE: Help on Compressors

Trivial, but next time consider a posting like this in the "Gas Compression Engineering" forum rather than in the "Piping & Fluid Mechanics Engineering" forum. You're more likely to get the "people in the know" to be looking for a question like this there + other users looking for similar answers are more likely to find what they need too.

I like the arielcorp.com site AND the advise given by Steve Jones and Bud Trinkel.

RE: Help on Compressors

To All:

I do apologize for being too fast when submitting my input.

As a result, it should have said "deals" instead of "deal" ...

Thanks,

Gordan
