Active Coal

Active Coal

Active Coal

(OP)
Hi all,

I have a question, does anyone know if the following components can be filtered with an active coal filter?

NOx
Ethylene
Methane

If not, is there a way to filter these components? (Catalytic Oxidation for instance?)

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Eltjo

RE: Active Coal

Activated carbon will remove small quantities of the methane and ethylene.  I do not think it will get NOx.  A catalytic converter will Convert NOx and it will combust the methane.  The ethylene will cause the catalyst to coke up, ie form solid carbon on the bed, at low temperatures.
