Hi,

Somebody told me that if you purchase a full version of Inventor the license agreement allows you to also use the same license on a laptop (2 for 1 per say). Now, I don't believe this as big corporations could buy 100 licenses for the 200 users

This cannot be right, can it

Yes
according to the EULA you are allowed to install the program on 2 computers (typically one at the office and your home laptop) provided you don't use them both at the same time.

Most programs are like this now and some have been for a while.
