IT is going to "reload" NX for me (due to other problems for another thread) and I'm wondering if there is a file (or files) with my user defined settings that I can "grab" before this takes place and then "replace" after the reload?  I'm sure there is, but what and where, not sure.  any help would be much appreciated.

RE: user defined settings

What version and what settings. If it is just your icons then the ".mtx" file, is created by saving your role post NX-4 and earlier the file will be in you user profile directories and called "user.mtx"

BTW if they re-install you OS you'll lose your icons if they just re-install UG then they shouldn't be affected, as they live elsewhere.

Best Regards

RE: user defined settings

Take a look at this: http://plmexchange.net/customizing-menus-dynamically/

And: http://plmexchange.net/customer-defaults/

When you start up NX look at the log file, search for the environment variables in the links above and copy your user specific settings.

Depending on the size of your company, I would look at having this set on a shared location so machines can come and go, but your settings will stay persistent to your login (on any machine).
