Packaged Boilers ?

Packaged Boilers ?

Packaged Boilers ?

(OP)
Hi guyz

I want to know what is the benefit of making boilers in packaged (sealed welded) form, and delivered it as a whole. and not like pressure vessels with flanged heads etc.

RE: Packaged Boilers ?

I imagine lower fabrication cost (price) and weight for the welded construction. Price over liftime (more easy maintenance and access, longer lifetime) might not necessarily be better for the flanged version.

RE: Packaged Boilers ?

a packaged boiler has a much lower installed cost than a stick-built boiler when the installation location is a developed area. Shop labor costs are lower than union field labor  costs, and the flow of work is better managed so the total number of ass'y hours in a shop is lower than in the field.

RE: Packaged Boilers ?

banu..

Boilers are not tanks....boilers are not pressure vessels.

They are designed, fabricated, tested and inspected to a different set of rules than tanks, silos or pressure vessels.

Packaged boilers smaller boilers are economically shop-built, tested and certified. They can produce saturated or superheated steam. In single or multiple units, they can satisfy most industrial and process needs.

Thier size limitation is the customer's transportation limitation.

To produce partially shop fabricated boilers is not practical
