Strenghtening Composite Beams

Strenghtening Composite Beams

Strenghtening Composite Beams

(OP)
I am working on renovations to an existing structure. the structure is a concrete beam with metal deck and concrete slab system, with the beams composite with the concrete. The studs do not meet the AISC criteria for the stud extension above the top of deck (for the 1.5" minimum).

Questions:

Is there a procedure foranalyzing studs such as these?

Is it viable to install additional shear studs (of proper length) to increase the composite capacity? An guidelines will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
