415V 2 Phase in UK

415V 2 Phase in UK

(OP)
I need to replace a 415v 3 phase and Neutral motor with a 415v 2 phase and neutral motor in the UK.

Are there any special regulations or practices that need to be followed in the UK for 2P+N installations or can I simply wire as 3P+N but only use 2 phases?

Many thanks

RE: 415V 2 Phase in UK

That sounds like an unusual motor, 2 phase & Neutral, I haven't seen a 2 phase motor in over 30 years, are you sure it's not single phase 415?
I have used 208 V single phase motor on 3 phase 208, you may need to pass 1 phase thru two overloads in series otherwise the out of balance will trip.
