COMPOSITE REPAIR METHOD (PIPE WRAP A+)

COMPOSITE REPAIR METHOD (PIPE WRAP A+)

COMPOSITE REPAIR METHOD (PIPE WRAP A+)

(OP)
For the past few years we have tried and tested few pipe repair methods and currently Clockspring  composite and steel sleeve repair methods are more established and used in accordance with our company guidelines.

One of the problems I came across in Clockspring was when larger defect lengths (> 12’’) its not cost effective, as we have to use multiple wraps of 12’’ in length .Further the product is not versatile ( in terms of application to bends and elbows). In past for the larger defected areas we have used steel sleeves as a cost effective method to clockspring and in terms of preparation handling and the quality of the repair there are quite a few areas for improvement.

In terms of composite repair methods there are very few efficient, economical, simple to use alternative to sleeves, welding or replacement methods in the market . Pipe Wrap A+  is one of the best in the industry used in America, Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Some of the Advantages in A+ system they claimed to have,

1.      Versatile – nothing special required for bends
2.      Eco-Friendly – non hazardous
3.      Easy option for Smart Pig Detectability
4.      Material can be applied even underwater
5.      Long repairs- applied rapidly
6.      Girth Welds- requires 1 installation Vs “bridging  technique”

Has anyone had the experience of using Pipe Wrap A+ ? Any major issues? How economical when compare with clock spring for larger defects?
