Mouse Customisation

Mouse Customisation

Mouse Customisation

(OP)
I am currently using Autocad LT98 and have recently changed to a three-button mouse.  How can I tell the Autocad software to recognise the middle mouse button, so that I may use it for screen scrolling operations?  I.E. so that I can drag the mouse, holding down the middle mouse button, and thus drag the drawing up and down the screen.

RE: Mouse Customisation

If the mouse is Logitech brand, software is available from the Logitech web site to customize the mouse buttons. (I think it is called Logitech Mouseware). ACad should be compatible with this software.

Hope this helps.

RE: Mouse Customisation

Acad is compatible with most Logitech devices, I am currently using the
MouseMan Wheel model with the latest drivers from Logitech. Microsoft
also provides drivers and support for the Intellimouse if this is the model you are using. In Autocad LT under  "TOOLS" "PREFERENCES" the "SYSTEM" option should list the current system pointing device and should provide a description of the mouse type. The Logitech CD that came with my mouse did not have the latest drivers so that may be your problem.

RE: Mouse Customisation

You need to set the MBUTTONPAN AutoCAD command to 1 and use the scroll wheel for drag in the dwg.

RE: Mouse Customisation

sections in the file acad.mnu (normal text file) allow redefining commands called by each mouse button.
