PDF printing in NX2
PDF printing in NX2
(OP)
Everytime I print a PDF from NX2 I get a PDF with thick lines. I don't have this problem in any other app. Is there something in NX that needs to be turned on/off?

Some people are like slinkies....they don't really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

If you're just printing off the screen contents then turn off all the line thickness displays and perhaps set your paper size in the print dialogs to match the drawing sheet. I'm afraid that some of the outcome depends on your choice of 3rd party PDF creation software as well.

Prior to the new SDI plot utility being added in NX3, NX used to use screen dumps (WMF files) when Windows users clicked Print. The setting posted above controlled the line weights since Print didn't utilitze a plot queue, which controls line weights and other items as well when users Plot (not Print).

RE: PDF printing in NX2
They've changed it again in NX-5 I noticed, now you have line widths in the print menus. Prior to that a lot of people are now going to A3 printers for everything and scarcely use a plotter let alone have one. So for quite a while I've been finding some site eschewed setting up plotting at all and just print off the screen. I'd have to say the results aren't so bad and I would also note that the change I'm seeing in NX-5 seems to acknowledge that. You already knew this I'm sure but it may help to unravel what we're on about for other readers.
Dave,
We use PDFCreator it works well, for those who can't afford or haven't already got adobe. There was something about PDF output support being added to NX mentioned recently, so I'd encourage reader not to part with too much cash in order to have this functionality.
