How to design/analyze common brick...

How to design/analyze common brick...

How to design/analyze common brick...

(OP)
The area in which I live and work has a a decent amount of common brick construction...common brick with bonded headers every 6 courses typically.  I can't find any information on how to analyze this type of masonry construction for lateral and vertical loads.  Does anyone know of any resources for common brick?  I am completely clueless about it.

RE: How to design/analyze common brick...

Probably this is the best site for the brick industry - bia.org.

With the type of contruction you described, your concerns are more in the area of details, specifications and codes. They have very good information.
