Capacity of Tapped Bolts in Cast Iron

Capacity of Tapped Bolts in Cast Iron

Capacity of Tapped Bolts in Cast Iron

(OP)
I've got an application where I wasn't told the base of a connection I'm designing is Cast Iron.  I'm currently working on the exact type.  My question is can anyone suggest a good resource on the capacity of tapped connections to cast iron?  In the application the cast iron base is the casing of a transfer case so there will be heavy vibrations so I'm also worried about fatigue.

Thanks for you help.

RE: Capacity of Tapped Bolts in Cast Iron

Castiron is selected, because of its damping capacity i.e to ability to damp the vibrations. That need not be a concern in your design. You can refer design details from  iron castings society www.ironcasting.org
