Short one: Whats the L symbol in ANSI

Short one: Whats the L symbol in ANSI

Short one: Whats the L symbol in ANSI

(OP)
Hi
Short one:

What is the L in circle(same as A in circle is ammeter, V in circle is Voltmeter)?
The L thing is conected in paralel with the voltmeter.

Thanks

RE: Short one: Whats the L symbol in ANSI

That is an odd one...

My guess, since it is in parallel with the voltmeter, would be L = LOAD

Hmmm, load... It is in paralel with voltmeter, on the MCC incomer, upstream main CB.
This is something generic, but i expect to have there a device, something touchable. It is connected like a voltage (undervoltage or overvoltage) relay.
System is IT.
Could be some remote CT for insulation monitoring, which provides signal to a central differential (51N?) protection mounted in main switchboard?
Other posibility:  making all documents in english is a fashion and need, in all emerging markets, due to different nationalities  parts involved in projects(ex: a chinesse investor, czech engineering company, german constructor, investment based in Hungary....). So maybe the engineer does'n speak so well english, or in his language, L means something obvious. I hope i am wrong and this remains a (bad) joke.

RE: Short one: Whats the L symbol in ANSI

Could it be a light indicating voltage is present?

RE: Short one: Whats the L symbol in ANSI

(OP)
Yes, could make sense, but it is not standard symbol for lamp. And all other symbols are correct, in drawings.

RE: Short one: Whats the L symbol in ANSI

Per C37.2, the following could be prefixes, suffixes or maybe abbreviations: level, liquid, left, local, low, lower, leading, line or logic.

Thanks.
What is a lowering relay ?

The standard symbols for voltmeter and ammeter are VM and AM, not V and M, so the L may well be for light even though this would not be standard.

A lowering relay, whatever that is, would not be in parallel with a voltmeter.

To know for sure, you'll have to ask the developer of the one-line or get the information from a list of materials.
