Inlet Diffuser Effects

Inlet Diffuser Effects

Inlet Diffuser Effects

(OP)
Looking for formulas to calculate the inlet diffuser efficiency. Given the inlet cross section area and diffuser exit cross section area including the temp, velocity, and density of the free stream what would the results be at the diffuser exit? How much does the velocity decrease? How much do the density, temp and pressure increase? What are the characteristics of the air entering the combustion chamber?

RE: Inlet Diffuser Effects

If I were looking for those equations then I would open my thermodynamics and fluid dynamics books, or derive them from first principles.

What combustion chamber?

Cheers

RE: Inlet Diffuser Effects

There is a very good, but quite old, NACA paper dealing with the topic of diffuser efficiency.  Can't put my hands on the names or numbers right now, but if you search the Langley site, you should come up with a lot of information.
