Import XML file from ANSYS to SolidWorks (Materials)?

Import XML file from ANSYS to SolidWorks (Materials)?

Import XML file from ANSYS to SolidWorks (Materials)?

(OP)
Hi,

This might not be the correct place to post my question but I figured that I would start here because SW figures prominently in what I am asking about.  Has anyone tried pulling in values into the Solidworks materials file from ANSYS?  I believe they're both XML and it seems as though generating a custom database via import from another FEA package wouldn't be too far out of the ordinary.  Your feedback is most appreciated.

RE: Import XML file from ANSYS to SolidWorks (Materials)?

I haven't tried ANSYS in particular, but have not had any luck pulling materials from any non-native format into SW. My experience is from moving files between programs for rendering purposes and I've always had to re-assign materials once the model has been migrated.

Hi "ren" -

Thanks for the feedback.  It seems like a fairly innocent request but I guess that's why they have ANSYS, COSMOS, etc.

Best regards,
