Strain at UTS

Strain at UTS

Strain at UTS

(OP)
The Duplex 25% has SMYS of 448MPa, UTS of 656MPa and Elongation of 25%.

If I like to plot the stress Vs strain curve with
Ramberg-os'good behaviour.

what strain will the UTS be? 25%?

Many Thanks

RE: Strain at UTS

No, the UTS will be at less than 0.25 strain.  It will be at a strain equal to the strain hardening exponent, n.

Cory

RE: Strain at UTS

.....where you would need to plot log true stress and log true strain to determine n as CoryPad mentioned.
