Tunnels

Tunnels

(OP)
I am looking for a good book about tunnels that would have both the mechanical behavior of soil and tunnel and some analysis and design discussions (to help in calculations).
It seems it is out there but it is hard to find.

RE: Tunnels

it definately is difficult to find lots of resources on the subject. i'm not certain i can completely help with your question, but i can offer some links i've run across while researching for my projects (i don't perform the analysis so i can't really recall specific references to tunnel design):

http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/engineering/geotech/library_listing.cfm
http://www.wbdg.org/ccb/browse_cat.php?o=29&c=4
(the ufc-navfac link above may not have specific information to tunnelling...i don't recall exactly)

http://www.usace.army.mil/publications/eng-manuals/
http://www.tunnelingonline.com/

good luck.
