First steps to customize Solid Edge?

First steps to customize Solid Edge?

First steps to customize Solid Edge?

(OP)
To anyone how would like to help,

By changing my job, I find myself working with Solid Edge.
There seems to be much less documentation available to customize it.
(I use to work with Solid Works)
I stumbled upon the site off Tushar Suradkar.
But his eBook seems a little out of date. (Version 14)

Is there anyone with some tips where to start?

René

RE: First steps to customize Solid Edge?

It may not be any help, but here is the list of things I do when installing a newer version of Edge -

Change the button size on toolbars (tools, options, helpers)
Turn on sketch relationship colours
Turn on 'indicate under-constrained profiles' in Edge bar
Correctly set up the File Locations to point to common files
Ensure the dimension style mapping in draft is turned on.
Set up the intelli-sketch options.
Turn on the 'maintain relationships' in 2D model space.

If I think of any else I'll let you know, sometimes I think these should be on as default...

What customization are you looking at doing?  If you give specific answers we may be able to give you specific answers.

First, thank you all for your reply.

What customization am I looking for?
Well, the problem is that I need to be more flexible within our projects, then programs like X-steel can deliver.
(Parameter based drawing programs)
But I need to be faster then possible with a modeller like SE to bring my work into production.
Thanks to "HDS" I found a good batch printer.
(Jason Newell) That's a start.
Batch changing part-properties would be very helpful,
for instance.

RE: First steps to customize Solid Edge?

For a batch changing properties method... under the "tools" menu there's the Property Manager. Inside this application you can show and edit much of the files properties so you can copy and paste one properties to any number of files easily.

Hope it helps
