400 bar leak-free thread

400 bar leak-free thread

(OP)
Hello all,
I am currently developing a solenoid actuator which has to fit onto a vessel; Vessel is about 1 liter volume and is filled with air/nitrogen at max 400 bar pressure. Maximum temperature is about 100°C. The fitting between actuator and vessel is about 14-18 mm diameter. Obviously the fitting must be leak-free. I am looking for a threaded fitting for installation pourposes. Any suggestion about a preferable solution for the thread?

thanx

NPT

RE: 400 bar leak-free thread

In using NPT you can then use Swagelok, Gyrolok and Parker tube fittings.  You should consider standard NPT sizes like 3/4" NPT.  With an NPT Female in vessel be careful if you are using Stainless Steel as gawling is a common problem.  Use a selant paste and allow to cure before applying any pressure.

trust this helps.
